    Hi Andrzej, interesting article thanks ! I would like to add a couple of toughts:

    – If the activity is intrinsically rewarding than still points can help, as they are feedback on how good you are performance. And the less the points mean (no $ value please), the stronger this feedback is.
    – Points are still a great way to make activities/ progress transparent. And transparency leads to more appreciation from the ouside and appreciation then fuels motivation again.
    – You can turn extrinsic points into something intrinsic : taken the entire amounts of points (across everybody) and converting into charity or a fun team event. No?

    • Hi

      Thanks for the comment. It is possible to use points in a more purposeful way. As you say, Points = donations. However that sort of thing only appeals to a small group (philanthropists in my model). For the rest it is still just a points and badges, so you need to be a little careful!!
